well my work is done

What I don't get is everyone saying he carries the future of the blues with him. Players like Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Johnny Lange (to mention a few) are doing just fine without adding the layers of douche-ism you have to peel off of Mayer to get to the good guitar player.

Agreed, John Mayer couldn't carry Joe Bonamassa's lunch box.

it's something like 27 pages in with no end in sight. that is a troll of darial proportions. good work, i say.

lol, they had to bust out the urban dictionary definition of "Fanboi"

hahahahaha

Well, the dude said something about resorting to sexual references. I thought, wtf?

Unrelated to Mayer, but illustrative of TGP in general.

"New ES330 on the way. What upgrades?"
"I just paid $20,000 for my new R9. Now I'm gonna spend $200 for new pots."
I thought the whole idea of buying a pro level guitar was getting something you DON'T have to work on????

i see that shit on HC all the time. it's not just TGP.

True, but with HC, it's usually fixing up junkers, not high dollar custom shop stuff.

EG

i've seen the range on HC. but overall, i don't think the dollar amount matters. people get something new and immediately want to start dicking with it. why? how about playing it for a while? you might actually like it! or, it may be that something does indeed need to change. but give the damn thing a chance.

That may be more what struck me about the one at TGP. Guitar on the way, what mods?

I enjoy tinkering with stuff. It's in my blood. If I'm gonna do that, I generally look for something that I want specifically for that purpose.

My Jr, however, I bought with the intent of looking for something I didn't have to dick with. My Epis and whatnot, though, I bought knowing I was using them projects and mad scientist shenanigans.

Meh, I guess it's the same reason somebody buys an S500 Benz and carts it off to AMG for custom work.

i put new pickups and custom wired the electronics on a $1700 guitar.
