Well, I have a Firefly FFDCD (P90x2 LP Special clone) coming.

Been wanting something like that. May mod it some, may sharpie it or put stickers on. Just wanted something fun for power pop punky vibe to mess around with, with P90's and 4 way controls. Review looks pretty good if you put some work in to correct any fret or set up issues.

This one has the better bridge, so that is good. It is pretty white, so may want to sticker it up or something. Maybe not. Maybe leave it in front of a window in the sun a bunch and see it it yellows out some.

But should be fun anyway. :-D

I have the red version of this one. It's a great guitar for the money. It would benefit from a pickup upgrade. I have a set of used Rio Grande mini humbuckers in mine.
I was thinking I would stick with P 90s as that was the sound I thought it was looking for. I just want to have a good set that does the basic punky LP special sound. I like the BG pups p90 I have put me look for a set, used or not, that doesn’t cost that much.

I will just try it stock at first just because, of course. Thanks for helping me out with considering it.

I don’t know where or when it started, but I have a thing for white guitars.
That’s hot.
I think it will be super fun! Always kinda wanted one. I do have a tele with a P90 in the neck that can do most of what this one will, but something was making me want the short scale, 4 knob control, punky little thing. I partly blame it on @Brian Krashpad , and @PunkKitty helped me figure out what I really was looking for, when I was starting to get distracted by full les Paul standard gold top types, and other stuff. What I really wanted was 2 P90’s, the ability to control volume and tone individually, short scale, and basic look that i can either just enjoy, or beat up if I want. And at $150, I don’t have to really care that much which way I go there. I will be interested to see how I like the white and if I try to modify the look at all or not. Probably not at first. And for once, I am not jonesing to put on a Tort PG!

I did have a day dream about at some point spraying it some surf/seafoam/swimming pool green, but I doubt I will bother or want to.

@Brian Krashpad ’s rig that re-started all this. So bad ass! Not saying my little cheapie is anywhere near these guitars, but will be fun and allow me a project to get the vibe. Screenshot from his FB where he posted this about a couple weeks ago.

Paul Westerberg’s beater single cut that also started this a long time ago.

@dodgechargerfan Jason White, touring guitarist with Green Day. Also responsible with his single cut. And what was giving me the idea to do some Westerberg-esque beater paint job with surf/swimming pool green. I might try it just for fun. But not for a while.

It’s here!

and I have no idea why the forum is turning my pictures sideways, but it doesn’t really matter so I’ll just leave it.

The initial once over makes it seem just fine for what I want. Frets and fret ends seem pretty darned decent, neck seems straight, action seems fine, looks like i will be able to swap in those pick ups easily enough, and I like the white and black look too. Nice!
