Love this pic... the perfect combination of "cute" and "attitude"....

... of course the little dude will be ruling the house soon.

Just like my orange buddy.

Friday: My dad called me up and wanted to see if I could meet him for lunch, because he and my step-mum are off on another trip this week. Met him at a pizza joint and then I went to get fitted for my friends wedding. He neglected to mention to me that his wife had changed the dress code from khakis and a button down shirt to black pants, white shirt, vests, bowtie, and shoes.... all of which had to match... and set me back a very unexpected $200. I was beyond fucking pissed, as I would've never agreed to be in the wedding party if I had known that going in. I've given serious consideration to saying fuck it and not going at all, especially as he and his wife didn't invite any of our other friends and I think I only got in the invite out of how it would look not to invite your oldest friend, even though we've drifted apart almost completey... we've known each other since the 1st day of kindergarten, so 22 years? Came home to play some video games and watch a movie only to find that something was fucked with my set-up. Apparently my TV and my systems are no longer making a secure HDCP connection, even when I plug directly into the TV. I'm guessing this is a TV issue, because I can't get it to recognize my PS3 at all. Better call LG and see if that's covered under my warranty...

Saturday: My friend Luigi came out and we had dinner and got drunk. REALLY drunk. Enough that I had to call my sister and wake her up so I could get home. We jammed out for quite awhile and we're going to start working on a really cool cover the next time he comes out. We rehearsed it a few times but it's not 100% there.

Sunday: Ouch. Morning was brutal. Had a recital to go to so I barely slept (when I have things to do early and I go to bed late I have a real hard time staying a sleep. My inner alarm clock just fights me the whole way.) Get to the venue 15 later than I planned, only to find out that the piano hadn't been moved and they needed me to help do it. Five foot vertical lift onto the stage and only two of us doing it. After that we realized we didn't have enough music stands, so I had to drive back to the academy and get them. I had two students playing (it was a variety recital for all of the teachers) and they both played alright, but they played it too quickly and were pretty nervous. I split at intermission and came home to read and browse the forum for a bit and then I went back down to LMA to record a song for tomorrow. It sounds good, but it was really frustrating. I might scrap it tonite and start over.

Very cute. We're probably getting a Shih Tzu puppy soon. People always think they're snobby princess dogs but my gf's parents have two and they're awesome, low-maintenance, great temperament and cute as hell. Plus her mom said she'd buy one for us which pretty much seals the deal. :embarrassed:

Friday, wasted time, drank a six pack of Foster's...
Saturday, wasted time, drank a six pack of Foster's...
Sunday, went to mom's, burned lots of brush piles, rode my dirt bike, drank more Foster's...

Recap: Pissed a bunch of people off on the internet, drank beer, went dirtbiking...

I had an action packed weekend.

Friday: One of the schools I work with was hosting a live remote with the Steve Harvey show so I was there to do logistical support (in other words troubleshoot to make sure everything goes smoothly.) I got there at 3:45 am, show was from 5am-9am. Everything went well, had about 400 people come out for the show. After that I went back to the office and worked until 1 and then went home and worked in the yard for an hour or so. Then I went to the Y and blasted my guns for an hour and then took a schvitz. Then I went home ordered some Thai food and watched the Blackhawks game with Mrs. Hump.

Saturday got up early and spent a couple of hours working in the yard with Mrs. Hump. I built a trellis for cucumbers and zucchini plants and one for pea vines. Then I went back to the Y at one and met up with my bro for some raquetball. We played for an hour and a half and I was feeling good and making all kinds of crazy shots. Afterwards we were sitting outside the courts and some guy was like "you wanna play a game" so I played him even though I was pretty tired. Then me and my bro took a schvitz. Chilled out for a bit at home and then I fired up the grill and made BBQ pork chops. We ate dinner, got dressed and then went out, first to a bar called the Grafton for a couple drinks and then we headed over to the Old Town School Of Folk Music and saw Graham Parker. Great show, the guy has about a million killer songs. After the show ended (around 1am) I split and Mrs. Hump went out with some guys from Graham Parkers backing band (they want her to do PR for their band and a side project they have going.)

Sunday I got up and went to The Music Store, I've been trying to buy a powered PA head off craigslist for weeks but everybody flakes out so I went up to the store to see if they had anything. Ended up buying a Peavy 4 channel head for $179 and then I went home and hooked it up and tested it out. After that I cleaned up the house a bit and then installed a new shower head. Played guitar for a while and learned a Los Lobos song we want to cover. Mrs. Hump made a dish with brown rice, bell pepper, garlic, spinach, shrimp and raisins for dinner which was very tasty and then we watched the Blackhawks game.

Now I"m really tired. :cheese:

Spent the weekend trying to deal with a really nasty situation in my wife's family. Her siblings don't want to leave Elkhart and her mom is using that as an excuse to continue to stay in (and keep them in) a horribly abusive and dysfunctional situation. I can't for the life of me imagine why someone would choose to continue being beaten and raped, when there's a (relatively) easy way out.

Also, very nearly came to blows with my wife's stepfather and then her brother, even though it was him I was trying to protect. I hate dealing with this level of dysfunction. These kids don't deserve to be treated the way they are.

Fuck.

Sucks hard.

warning: long

i had a very busy weekend but i need to start on thursday....

thursday: day 1 of 2 days of field trips with my daughter to an environmental center....the highlight of the two days being the "mudwalk"....a hike through mud trails that were very deep and mucky....

the beginning of the mudwalk trail....

friday: day 2 of the field trip....dry day....lots of hiking through different floirda eco-systems....we learned how to read compasses and at the end of the field trip a boy in my group tripped, fell down and broke his arm.... messedup0

as soon as i got back from day 2 of the field trip i packed up and headed out with my friend karen to juniper springs in the ocala national forest for some camping and an awesome canoe trip!

a couple of pics saturday morning of fog rolling in....

camp-IMG_1634.jpg

the canoe trip down juniper springs was awesome (but expensive...i'll get to that part later)

the juniper springs canoe run is rated one of the top 10 in the country....it is a very challenging 7 mile run with lots of tight turns, fallen trees (some you had to navigate under with very little clearance and some you had to maneuver around or over)....the 7 mile trip took 4 1/2 hours....here are a few pics and then we will get to the expensive part!

here is where we pulled over for lunch....
camp-IMG_1659.jpg

camp-IMG_1660.jpg

now for the expensive part....after lunch we headed back out and 5 minutes later we flipped our canoe! no not because of a particularly difficult section of the run but because we started a water splashing fight with our paddles and it got out of control and we flipped....the canoe completely submerged....everything got soaked including my camera and my car keys....a canoer behind us stopped and jumped in to help me get the canoe from under the water and emptied and flipped back over (i had helped another canoer earlier on that had flipped their canoe)....we also lost one of the paddles s for over half the trip i was the only one with a paddle....challenging since there was very few straight runs....lots of maneuvering was needed....including some small rapids.....

my camera is ruined so no pictures of the gator we saw or anything else after our flip (luckily the pictures on the card were retrievable so we didn't lose the pics we had already taken) and my keyless entry for my car is ruined too....it will cost about 500-600 bucks to replace both....other than that it was a great time....the most challenging canoe trip i've ever been on....

saturday night: chilled by the fire....

sunday.....took a hike, packed up and headed home....took a nap.....

Wow, warren0728, broken arms, tipped canoes, busted cameras... What's the field trip to monster trucks going to be like?! :)

And, my heart felt sympathies for those of you who had a rough weekend... Every day around here is difficult, but not like some folks...

Warren.... do you want me to count how many of those pics make me think of the words "Blood sucking leaches stuck to wet flesh"?
