Using a Telecaster for Doom/Stoner rock = fail!

Eh. Put a 4 way switch on a Tele and you can get some great humbucking tones. If you are going for image, then you need an SG, a pointy Schecter, or a BC Rich.

typical simplistic metal vocal melody follows the progression. But Teles are superior guitars, well suited to everything because of that presence and edge they have. I always loved Bill Frissell's Tele playing on Nashville. Playing jazz on a Tele is a much bolder move. The very best Zep songs were played on a Tele. EB basses on the other hand sound like shit and song would have been improved with a P bass.

I used to play that sort of stuff on my Tele, frikking loved it. Twangy bridge pickup + big muff + matamp = amazing.

Also, for this sort of music having a badass bass player is the key anyway.

My favorite metal song at the moment.

actually very good and entertaining.

Also Teleish guitar.
