Tonex now new amp or pedal day?

I think they had me in mind when they designed this. No deep diving menus, knobs all on the front.

This is the video that sold me, but I’m interested in the Bonamassa Dumble captures. I probably won’t use them, but they will be cool to mess around with.

It arrived today. If I only ever use it for the Studio Rats Matchless, it's worth it. So far I fired it up, tried a few of the preloaded amps, then downloaded the Matchless, a Dumble and a Morgan AC20. They all sound really good and this thing is so simple to use. I'll probably sell the HX Stomp, I don't see myself using it over the Tonex. The stomp is easier to use than I thought it would be, but still a little cumbersome to adjust on the fly.

@baimun you may want to take a look at this as a cheap backup to the amp part of your Kemper. I know you like the stupid simple interfaces like me.

Seeing the footprint, price, and the fact that a compressor and reverb knob are right there on top... it might make a great option for my live looper board if I don't want to drag out my full Kemper setup.

So easy, even a caveman can use it

I’m not sure why, but when I ordered mine from pro audio star, I got $60 off. I order a lot from them though. Their shipping warehouse is like an hour from me. So I get everything next day.

So do you really need more pedals with this to do a gig if you need more effects like modulation or delay? It just has the captures, some verb and compression?

yes, this is just amps. Well amps and over drives, but that is if they captured the amp with an OD in front.

Ok, I've now had this for a week. I still really love this thing and I think all of these type of things have finally gotten to where they may not sound exactly the same as a tube amp, but they are so close, who cares. As everyone know, I like my rig simple and I've gotta say, this one is probably the most simple of all the modelers, which is a win for me. The other units have way more features (and cost a lot more) but that isn't what I was going for.

I really only need a clean, light over drive and crunchy tone. Really a clean amp with 2 dirt pedals has been enough for me, so I've always thought this kind of thing would be overkill for me, I don't need a bazillion amps. The thing that never dawned on me, was when I would swap guitars, I'd always have to tweak my settings a little. With this, I am planning on setting up where button 1 is my clean, button 2 is my light OD and button 3 is my crunch. Then each bank will be for a different guitar. So bank up or down when I swap guitars.

It’s tempting to buy one of these just to buy this one amp pack:

I gotta say, for $399, it’s a steal. It’s by far the best bang for buck piece of gear I’ve ever bought. It’s a little distracting searching through all the amps and trying them out, but it’s also pretty fun. The Matchless from the Studio Rats pack is probably the best sounding amp I’ve ever played through. And I’m pretty sure I’ll get the purple Plexi this weekend.
