Today I enjoyed a nice refreshing Coca Cola!

I loved RC Cola. I never see it any more.

But if I do see it...and it's got the benzoate...I'll be passing.
We found some a few months ago and did a blind test against Pepsi. I remember it fondly, but now it tastes terrible.

Last time was probably a month ago eating out at a drive through. I always get a small size everything if I have to drive through eat, which isn't often anymore. I prefer Coke with Jim Beam but, even that's been over a year since the last time I indulged.

I don't really do soda anymore. I do though do hydration drinks in the summer though and I try to stay away from the gatorade and such. I've had Tailwind in other flavors before and have liked them all but I recently got their Colorado cola flavor as it was described as waterdowned cola and i always enjoyed cola as it sat near finished with ice melting so I thought it would be a win.....perhaps it is but so far I won't be butying it again BUT with that said I usually do less than the recommended scoops because I'm cheap and I also don't like it overly sweet....problem is it tastes like watered down watered down with a hint of cola flavored candy (not good) rather that McDonalds coke with the ice melting (which is good). i did add just short of the recommended amount ( 2-3 scoops for 24 oz and I did 3 scoops for 32 ounce) last time and it was better. next time I will try 3 1/2 scoops ...... so who knows, still might be a winner
Big fan of tailwind for long runs - I generally go with the orange flavor (my default for pretty much any hydration drink) - I only want caffeine for the later miles of verrrry long runs, so I don't generally go for the cola flavor, but it's good too. They intentionally make all their flavors really really mild so that you can drink it for hours and hours and not get sick of it

I am happy to report that at the recommended scoops the Colorado Cola is what i expected which is a McDonalds cola like a half hour after you finished your Big Mac and the ice had melted about 50 percent (in other words...good). I did 3 1/2 scoops to 32 oz.

Hydration drinks...I use a lime flavored carbonated water (zero sugar, zero sodium, zero artificial sweeteners) and I mix it 50% to 50% fruit juice. Deadly.

nuun makes a cola flavor too, if you'd like to sample other runner's favorite hydration drinks (nuun is just electrolytes, no sugar; I tend to prefer tailwind for longer runs)

DdBob's talking about the kind of hydration drink where sodium is one of the main points (to replace sodium lost in sweat), but that sounds tasty!

Yes but those hydration drinks are formulated for people who aren't loaded with sodium and who have efficient cooling systems (sweat systems). They are MARKETED to people who have a game of pickup basketball or mow their lawns.

90% of people are just getting salty overload with those. The other 10% are probably valid consumers of them.

Is this a carbonated Nuun ? I've had Nuun before but mnot really a fan of any of the fizzy hydration drinks (basically the alka seltzer types in the tube)

The ones like Tailwind are really only gonna be known by people who are runners, Bikers, etc Nuun and such are sold at Whole foods and places and kinda go both ways (endsurance sports as well as Yoga moms) gatorades and such are primarily old folks, the average joe or the person playing video games.
I generally only take water running or hiking because I either share my supply with my dog or on some occasions he takes his but i still want the option to share mine if he runs out. I also drink it during the summer when I come home at lunch and after work since i work in a non air conditioned job (on cars) and I sweat shit tons during the day.

gatorade is marketed for the pickup basketball/lawn mowing thing; tailwind is marketed pretty much just for actual endurance sports (running, biking, etc for multiple hours, etc) where you actually need the salt.

yep, it's the same tablets in a tube stuff. if you make it in advance and shake it up/"burp" it after it's dissolved the fizz goes away, but I tend to prefer tailwind anyway - mostly because I pretty much only use hydration drinks for long runs and I generally want some carbs in there too, not just electrolytes

Gatorade is just way to sweet plus I'm pretty sure it's loaded with bad stuff. it's basically kool-aid for grown ups and video game nerds (also the construction trade.)...i remember the old lemon lime and orange in the glass bottles, that was when it was tolerable.
They say pickle juice is great for relieving cramps. i think i read that first from that jeep driving broad (Morgan Sjogren aka Running Bum) who used to (maybe still does) video's with Jamil. She claimed that was her secret weapon for long runs.

pickle juice is popular at trail/ultra aid stations (along with fireball, which is probably less helpful physiologically, but can be great mentally)

I drink orange Gatorade every morning when I wake up. I’m even a Georgia fan. I had some serious electrolyte problems almost three months ago-enough to go by ambulance to the hospital. It was low potassium & low calcium. My fingers curled up & turned purple. I thought I was having a stroke. Anyway, I take prescription potassium & over the counter calcium. My friend bought me some Gatorade after picking me up from the ER. That stuff was too salty to drink. Yet, my body craves it now. I don’t salt my food. I don’t even notice the salt anymore & a little sugar won’t hurt me. I take a bottle with me every time I work with my personal trainer, like I’m a professional athlete or something! Ha! I take a sip just to stay ahead of my game.
