There are a ton of lap steels with MOTS "fret"boards, but that one is the first fretted guitar I've seen with the all-inlay design.

Yeah, I've seen much worse. Dean and LTD both do some garish quilted top acoustics with gold hardware, abalone, and obnoxious stains. Oh, and this:

It is kind of the definition of kitsch. Took a lot of effort and expense to build, and is hideous.
