The official "Jokes that Prages won't get/find funny" thread!

actually, what makes the originals so epic is that we'd never seen anything like that before.
that 1st scene with the blockade runner & Star Destroyer passing overhead were mindblowing.

the acting is just as bad in the OT as it is in the prequels.
Alec Guinness excepted, of course.

and Anthony Daniels too.

and Jar Jar kicks ass.

Agreed.

actually, I think some of the acting in the OT is far worse, to be totally frank (oz).
Mark Hamill couldn't act his way into my bed...

Agreed.... That is the second most memorable movie moment of my childhood. (the first being my parents taking me and my sister out to the movies after being cooped up in the house for a week or so because of a blizzard. It was the four of us and the projectionist in the theatre.)

That's SIR Alec Guinness.

and Anthony Daniels too.

Another great choice.

:annoyed: I brought you to this forum.... I can take you out.

...

That scene instantly redefined the state of the art for special effects.

The first two movies had great stories. By the time he got to RoTJ, he started softening them up to sell toys to kids. See Ewoks, originally they were supposed to wookies and the story was grittier. The cutesy kids shit from that point on really got to me. Fuck Jar-Jar. The last three were really kids movies and bugged me. Make a good movie and people will like it. You don;t have to pander to different groups to sell merchandise.

Jar Jar is my friend, and I don't appreciate you talking about him like that.

I do agree with your last statement though, as I'd have bought they toys regardless.

I bet if you had never seen the originals and saw them for the first time now, you wouldn't think so.

My kids saw them all fairly recently by comparison. They loved em.
Of course, they like Monty Python and the Three Stooges, so...

So, am I the only other guy on this forum, other than Prages, that hasn't seen all the Star Wars flicks, and doesn't care?

I haven't seen the last 2 and I'm pretty sure the single times I purposely sat down to watch Empire and Jedi I kept getting distracted with other stuff. Not a fan.
