The Les Paul switch position is worse than the Strat

jbj

Poor old Geordie's array...
IMHO :embarrassed:

I'm borrowing my brother's edward's LP while the Duesy is in the shop and I keep banging the selector and knocking it into the neck position.

Never happens when i play a strat, just saying...

really?

can't say I've ever done that accidentally.

mind ya, I've never done it on any guitar.

tape is my friend

I have the jim adkins tele and it has the switch in the same spot. I used to knock it around all the time without knowing it. I have no gotten to the point where I hardly every touch the switch.

you must strum way forward, like above the neck pickup.

You should check Mark's "The Paul", it's selector should suit you better.

I hit the selector switch on occasion on my Tele, but never have with any of the LP type guitars I have owned. I really like the location on my PRS better than anything else I have owed.

I never had a problem with the LP. I sometimes knock the strat selector with my fingers when playing, but even that is pretty rare. My biggest control complaint is that the strat volume knob gets bumped when I play and I slowly find it getting turned down with time.

You sure you don't have it on upside down? :embarrassed:

Where have you been hiding? :embarrassed:

It usually happens when I'm playing funky stuff so yeah my arm is playing over the top of the high frets. Probably just a case of me not being used to playing a Les Paul.

I'm watching Bob Marley live just now and he's playing really high up and there's really not that much space between his wrist / forearm (which is what i bash it with) and the selector.

I wouldn't even be posting this if the shop would hurry t.f. up and get the Deusy back to me

Yep, that's always been my complaint about strats, although it seems to not be an issue for me, anymore, for some reason... I have no problems with my LP switch at all...
