The "I was there" thread

I can't find any video of the show I went to but I found this clip of the group. It was called "A Band Of Gypsys". The guitar player was pretty good.

My parents saw Hendrix back in 68 or 69. I asked them what it was like to see him live and neither of them remember the show; apparently it was hard to see the stage at times through all the pot smoke.

Cynic at Hellfest 2007, first show on the reunion tour. I was lucky enough to tape the (probably) first public performance of Evolutionary Sleeper, I think the solo here is better than what ended up on the album version

from that show I also taped :
Veil of Maya
Celestial Voyage
Uroboric Forms
...I'm But A Wave to

Some other clips from that festival
Amon Amarth - Runes to My Memory

Misery Index - The Great Depression

Korpiklaani - Wooden Pints

I've seen Sabaton 3 out of the 4 times they came to Israel, tape these from the 1st show:

and still lough every time I see this from the 2nd show (2nd I've attended, 3rd overall):

Saw Bumblefoot twice when he came to Israel, once with black metal pioneers Salem:

and once when he performed with Yossi Sassi, here a clip of Sweet Child 'o Mine's solo that I taped on that show:

Also tons of other local metal acts, some on taped by me, other by other fans or by the artists themselves.

Not only was I at this Grateful Dead Concert, New Years Eve 1987, which was subsequently released under the title "Ticket To New Years", but I can be seen in the video, middle of the screen, right next to the guy holding a girl, (I have no facial hair), dancing after the Dead came back at midnight and started playing "Hell in a Bucket"...many many years ago Right about 3:43...

SRV Live at Fitzgerald's in Houston, October 1981

Monsters of Rock, September 2, 1984, Zeppelin Field, Nürnberg, W. Germany

Last VH concert for Dave. He was obviously drunk on stage and forgot the lyrics numerous times.

Mine too. I'd never seen him before -- barely even heard of him -- and I was blown away.

At that time he was HUUUGE over here in Euroland, for very good reason.

Always annoyed me how I was a few years too young to catch those Monsters of Rock shows. What incredible lineups they had. :embarrassed:

My first real memorable one was the first Maiden show I saw. Not their best album, and no Adrian Smith - but still something that sticks.

Testament opened with a bloody awesome set. Skolnick a marvellous guitar player, obviously still is.
