I bought four dollar tuners from Reverb; I guess it was a good deal ... but one of them was DOA, and another literally just fell apart from the ultra-cheap plastic giving way to the pressure of the hinge spring. I like cheap stuff when it works.

That's a bummer! I keep a couple of them at work for use with my students and they've held up well.

That happened with the first one I tried. The reverb tuners are really just a cheap way to buy batteries.

Ya know, I was always intrigued by Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick playing a 12-string bass. Of course, they were (at the time) Hamers and hella expensive; HOWEVER, our friends at Pro Audio Star have a Dean (yeah, I know...) Rhapsody 12-string bass and have dropped the price on it to $495 . Again, I know it's a Dean, but it's a 12-STRING BASS FFS!!!!!

They’re dumping the old ones. The new model was just announced in the new issue of Premier Guitar. Once the PGS site comes back I’m getting the Alter Ego to replace the massive Biyang delay I use now.

edit: I went back to photograph it and it’s not an update. Premier Guitar just reran the bit about the Alter Ego v2 from 2014 to fill space and I didn’t realize it the first time I read it.
