God, I would kill for one of those Explorers...

even though all the experts say that the pickups in the Explorer were the same PAF's as the Les Paul....i strongly disagree.....those Explorer pickups WERE overwound. i had both guitars, back to back, and the Explorer was definitely hotter....and even though it was also a 1958.....the neck was thinner than the Paul.

There was no real consistency to Gibson necks in the 50's..I guess a testament to their hand-madeness.
