I have never been able to relax in bed. Once im awake, i gotta be up, or i'll just toss and turn and get frusterated. I get up, get some coffee, catch up on the news, thats the best way for me to start a day. I'd go crazy just laying in bed.
+1. I just get bored laying there lol.

I wouldn't call myself a light sleeper, but I don't need as much sleep as you, and I'm not used to having that much sleep. Maybe 4-5 hours a night, on average?

If I could get a solid 7 hours of sleep a night on a regular basis I would be perfect, I think.

Not going to happen any time soon, though.

Oh yes. Except its more like crying the same tune.

I won't be able to pick either of them up until they're at least a month old (assuming that they're born on their due date, which probably isn't likely since it's twins and my wife's second pregnancy), so I don't know how useful I can be. I guess I can rock, feed, and change diapers if someone else does the job of handing them over while I'm sitting. But it's not like I can carry them, even. Unless they weigh less than 5lbs. each.

I guess my primary responsibility will be to make sure that my first-born need not bother anyone else for anything.

My wife's little sister moved in with us last month. She just moved out here to do her M.S., and we figured we've got a big place, and she could live without having to worry about room and board. Plus, we'll need the help for a little while, at least.

Mrs. Flamencology is going to take a year off, and I'll try to get as much as possible of my Ph.D. finished in that time, and then we'll switch permanently.

Me too. I might be one of those guys after I retire who just goes back and does it for the experience...

I have spent my career as a non-degreed mechanical engineer. and i know my stuff, not to brag or anything but i did a lot better stuff than many of the degreed guys. But it has held me back a lot too.

My father was a self educated component engineer...he ended up inventing a position at Ericsson to keep from getting replaced by degreed guys half his age that would work for half the money....

I started as a mechanical drafter. Back in the pencil and vellum days. hahaha. But i kept coming up with stuff as i drew the designs, that eventually they started giving me projects, and from then on i was bumped up to engineer.

A bunch of people are off at work today, should make for a nice easy Friday. Then I'll be grabbing some drinks with the gf and dinner with her rents.

Yay.

I'm going to attempt some progress on my buggy project this weekend, we'll see how it goes. :embarrassed:
