I've probably never heard a full Rush song.
Anything by Neil Young is up there too.
If solo artists count, then Joni destroys all.
Hearing Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio, and Freewill 10 billion times without asking to was a big part of my North American experience.
I usually get upgraded because of the taint...The Band was not all Canadian and so needs to be downgraded because of the taint .
Then we'd have to include Stompin' Tom and Stan Rogers.
I guess my European experience is more like someone telling you that you gotta hear this, assuming that since you're into music, or so they've heard, you must either be into this really inaccessible stuff, and we could share that moment of mutual understanding, or impressed by the person suggesting something as exotic, exciting and sophisticated as Rush. Same with Dream Theater really. That conversation usually dies pretty quickly when you say you're really into Michael Bublé atm.
I can appreciate outstanding craftsmanship, but to me it's about the context, the whole package, the stories being told, which is why I dig King Diamond and Stan Getz but not Rush, Dream Theater or bebop and fusion, I guess.

Well, for example? Everything.
I think Neil young is too associated with California for the list. What about Bryan Adams, he’s Canadian?
Cuts like a knife is all about cutting through pancakes laden with maple syrup.Off the top of my head I don't recall Neil having any lyrics remotely as Canadian as thatNeil Young is more Canadian than Bryan Adams.
