:embarrassed: <- Ashamed of myself.

Any progress on the speech?

It’s encouraging to see you out of the hosp this quickly… my father-in-law’s wife went into the hospital Sunday after falling down the basement stairs. She was getting surgery the same time as you on Mon morning. Surgery went as good as it could, and she has been moving both sides of her body enough that they have backed off her sedation, but so far when she opens her eyes it’s kind of a stare. She has a DNR on file, so after Tuesday they have to remove the intubation and hope she wakes up.

Wife and I are driving up there on Tues (4 hrs) to be with her Dad either way.

Keep fighting the good fight mate.

Mrs JBJ got a massive raise last week, I'll price up an ed Sheeran get well cameo vid, that'll get you right back on track. :baimun:

Sorry to hear that about your mother-in-law (?), and hope that she’s healing as well.

I’ve been recovering really well, but it’s all perspective. On Wednesday, the speech pathologist asked me to take 2 minutes to name as many sorts of animals as I could. In those 2 minutes, I was able to say ‘dogs’ and ‘cats’.

I had something similar to me 9 years ago, complication from another brain surgery, and can now say that I’ve had two strokes before I turn 40. So I know that it’s a slow build, what to expect and not to expect, accept new normals, etc. It’ll be exhausting and frustrating, but it should be interesting too.

But I’m really happy with how I’m doing, relatively.

What I’m really struggling at the moment now is anxiety. I don’t think it’s been this intense in my life.

While the recovery process sucks, I suppose it helps that you at least know what you are up against….

I’ve heard that baths… especially with rubber ducks…. Can reduce anxiety. :baimun:

I was super skeptical when I attended a training session through work but I find mindful breathing exercises really helpful when overwhelmed with stress or anxiety. Even if I'm just getting a bit frazzled or pissed off.

Maybe something to give a try if you haven't already.

Thanks so much. That made my day.

The past couple of months have been stressful, to put it mildly.

The support has made a difference, and it’s appreciated.

We are here for you… and I was going to say it looks like your stitches are healing up quite nicely since the staples came out. :baimun:

@baimun ’s rubber ducks launched officially today, and will be party gifts at AYA cancer conference events throughout the country for the next month or so.
