Generally, the homeowner's insurance and/or farm insurance will cover it.
Unlike floods, tornado damage is covered. Frequently, the feds step in with grants and interest free loans as well for those who did not have insurance.
Renters are generally screwed the worst. Most don't carry renter's insurance and those folks are often the ones who are least able to afford to replace what they lose.

here whenever we have some sort of disaster like an eaqrthquake or wildfire they make it really hard to get insurance for a long time for those things.

With all the heated debates at TGP, I expected to hear something.
Nada. I could hear the different values as far as how much and how quickly they rolled off, but I could not hear any difference between materials.

I'll be honest...when you're actually using the instruments how they are meant to be used in the environment that most are used in none of this matters one shit. If you're in the soundproofed studio on your 10 acre estate or spare bedroom or basement of moms house I guess you can worry about those things. Thats what drives me nuts about this stuff. If you find something you like then use it no matter what it is if you're not spending your grocery money to do it but chasing this junk online because someone on TGP or one of those places (TAG KNOWS TONE!!!!!!) swears thats how you get the sound of Robben Ford playing a cover of Politician is worthless.

Funny, I noticed at a show a few weeks ago...the guitarist sounded killer all night with the band.
After the show, my brother introduced me and we were talking gear a bit and he offered to let me play his strat. Without the band playing, it didn't sound very good to me. In the mix, though, it was perfect.
Fascinating.

Yeah, and then there's the fact that a great guitarist can make just about anything sound good.

Even if there is a discernible difference, that doesn't mean that either one is better. On the blind tone clips, I've often thought the Squier sounded better than the Fender, etc.

Glad you're still with us EG! Shipping my guitar from Oz woulda been a bitch.

all of this tone talk cements my standard argument...the volume levels needed for the VERY subtle differences between cords, tone caps, pots etc is so high that 99% of guitar players will never hear it...

...tornado mojo EG...you must be living right...

you gotta watch "Hail Hail Rock and Roll"...there's a scene where Keef tries to adjst the tone on Chuck Berry's amp so it will sound good on TV...Chuck just about punches Keef out...

Well, I've also noticed that anything approaching sublety is lost when drummer, bassist and several hundred horny drunks are nearby.
"Did you hear that bell tone?"
"I'm sorry, were you talking? Some brunette was puking on me."

EG

If I was Chuck, I'd punch Keef just because I was Chuck.
"Think you're tough, limey boy? I'm Chuck Fucking Berry, so bite me!"
