Hi Mark.. Whats new?

Just getting the kids ready to go, then I have a brutal day of students ahead of me.
Hello there folks.

Been kind of busy, just wanted to pop in and confirm that I still exist.

Still need to start on some of Mark's lessons. The limited guitar time I have had the past few days I have used to look up some tabs and rock out to a couple of Muse songs.

mornin Mark!

proud of myself...learning how to fingerpick

of course i chose Jeff Beck's "People Get Ready" as the vehicle of my fingerpicking education, so its slow-going, but...

its a beautiful song, but fingerpicking the chord progression is kicking my ass

i'm doing it faithful to the tabbed version in this months Guitar World

Zemmy, saw that you called, I will try and remember to call you after class tonight:rolleyes:

Heeeellllllloooooooooooooooooooooo!

Jeff B finger picks that song like a muthahucka... Dude makes it sound like his fingers have nylon points on them.

yeah he does, and his chord voicings sound amazing, which is why i'm trying to be faithful to doing it his was...problem is, it constantly reminds me how far i have yet to go

You and me both. But challenging yourself and recognizing your deficiencies are just part of the improvement process...

Hey, Y'ALL! wave0

Zemmy, that's one o' my all-time faves, and almost everytime I pick up the guitar, I find myself playing the melody/lead lines for no good reason.

That's the style I've emulated for a few years now...still not really good at it, but I use the side of my thumb (not the fingernail) and can come close to that soft attack.

theres always a good reason to play it...it's a great piece of music!

and with my american strat thru my traynor ycv20....it takes me to my happy place:grin:
