Sweet Jesus, what I supposed to do about a woman that is incapable of comprehending the difference between cilantro and parsley. :annoyed:

Once again, she has brought home two bunches of Italian parsley instead of cilantro. We have been over this so many times. :facepalm:

And yes I am kidding about the dee-vorce. But JEEZUS!
 
You need to look inward and work on your communication skills, and your expectations. Start off appreciating your wife's accomplishment, I mean it's pretty much in the ballpark, right? It's green and it's not a poison. We're getting there. Think about why this is important to you, and may not be to your partner. We all see and value things differently. For the next session I need you to think about your childhood experiences concerning grocery shopping, which may or may not be key to understanding how you feel and interact with others.

Using parsley will make for some interesting pico, no doubt. In fact, maybe you should do that....make some pico with extra parsley. That'll send a message. :wink:

If I eat cilantro, as a garnish on tacos or something, I get the "tastes like soap" thing but, as an ingredient in chili, stew, I don't get even a hint of soap. Curios if it's the same for other people.

It doesn't taste anything like soap to me. Onions, cilantro, and a good hot sauce are a must on authentic Mexican tacos and burritos for me. I don't think I've had it in chili or stew.

Genetics making cilantro taste like soap mojo.

A childhood friend of mine who used to only listen to hard rock/metal bands, is now into the country artist Brad Paisley(Dried Parsley?). He says he's a good guitar player. I'm not familiar with his music.

I eat as little raw onions as possible. Love the taste, hate the effect. If I eat too much raw onion, I get gas. Not I'm going to burp a lot, I'm going to fart a lot gas because, it doesn't come out so, my stomach blows up like a balloon. I can eat onion rings or any other cooked onions all day long, no problem.

Sorry for all the info you probably didn't want to know but, you had to mention onions.

FWIW me gusto Brad Cilantro > Brad Paisely.
 
Brad Paisley’s music is not my thing. But, the guy is a monster player. He also gets killer sounds out of his guitar rigs.

Dried Parsley seems pointless. To me, it’s mostly flavorless.

I like Cilantro. But, I don’t think it should be used in every food on the planet. And, if you’re cooking for guests, you should leave it out of the food until you know for certain what the genetic lottery has done to their taste buds. It’s nobody’s fault if cilantro tastes like soap to them. And if you’re a chef who automatically puts cilantro in your recipes, I consider you an unprofessional hack.
