steepest street/road you've driven on?

Man, I sometimes have anxiety dreams where I have to drive on absurdly steep roads. Hate that.

In real life, who knows. Maybe in Colorado - the only hills we have here are bridges and freeway ramps.

That horrible Colorado mountain road I drove down this winter without checking the tread on my tires first. Never doing that again.

OW MY GOD ROAD
Yes it's in Colorado.
Independence Pass is a huge bitch too.

The driveway of a house we rented in St. John. I forget what the grade was but the little jeep we rented barely fit around the switch backs. It was crazy. Especially at night.

And some off road treks in Wyoming where I basically went sledding down some hill sides in a suburban

We've got some pretty steep roads here, but a few of the trails we did in the Jeep in Canyonlands National Park were downright scary.

Some road outside of Pittsburgh. There was sleet and freezing rain and bumper-to-bumper traffic due to an accident at the bottom of the hill. Scared me to death.

There's one here in Norway that loosely translates as the Troll Climb (mountain road between east and west Norway). Ridiculously steep, narrow, and nothing but curves.
About 10 kilometres and takes almost an hour, as you can barely get above second gear (first when going down). :embarrassed:

I don't know the name of it, but there is a road in Utah I took on the way to the Anasazi Indian village that was very steep, with steep dropoffs on either side and no guard rails. I was scared to death going over it, and all I could think of was that I had to take that same road going back.

I want to drive that! In something like a Jaguar F type SVR, or a McLaren. I want to do it in like 30 minutes or less.

The view there is quite spectacular :)

I wouldn't try that with a speed car in the middle of summer though. Place is full of buses and tourists with camper vans and such. :embarrassed:
Probably quite fun in off season.

I been on some steep ones in Colorado and New mexico, non pavement with mud but probably the steepest is a 4wd trail in the Santa Rita mountains southeast of Tucson. it's just ba little side trail and on the way back up yer looking at the sky most of the time and it's maybe 1 mile long with some slight turns and slightly rocky, when dry it still necessitates 4wd LOW and 1st gear even with teh MIGHTY Jeep 4.0 straight 6 !!!!!11! typical southwestern terrain not found in the Cornbelt cop0
