Steen Guitars Launches New Line of Ergonomic Electric Guitars

There is more to it than the shape. Tuners in line with nut, downward angled headstock, 25' scale. Strats lack the sustain because of the floating trem and Fender flat headstocks don't have any downward tension in the nut. It may not be for everyone but it is a new guitar. Not a rehashed Gibson or Fender. Check out this video.

Always nice to see a builder drop into the discussions. Welcome. The video is very interesting. I also agree that your design is unique, which is a refreshing thing to see in guitar land.

Also, can you explain the design of the upper bout where the neck meets the body. I would think that having the wood near the neck angled the opposite direction (like on the upper horn of a strat) would be more comfortable, but you clearly have your design doing the opposite, so I assume there is a reason for it. I'm not knocking the design, especially as I have never played your guitar, but it is more for my own curiosity.

Be interested in playing it on a strap...perhaps it's more comfortable than it looks (a great deal like an oud) to play, standing.

Love the tele-styled controls, though!

I find that most ergonomic guitars sit too low in my lap, same as most electrics usually. It may be improper technique, but when I sit down with a guitar, it's because I want to play it up high on my body. I'm not looking to match the same playing angle as when I stand.

The Steen may or may not be at the right level for that. The Giannini is definitely too low.
