Bro SD is just uppity folk, you can get a better burrito in springpiss …….or the frozen isle of wal mart , just look for the 2 for a dollar onesThanks for the beer recco @micwalt — I am a beer snob and so is the coworker I’m traveling with so this is good info.
And thanks all for the other info. La Jolla is also on my list of possible spots to duck out to, so it’s cool that it comes highly recommended.
I need to renew my passport so the Tina’s Burrito Show is off the menu.

You can get the California burrito…. It’s just veggiesI was talking about your little donkey show idea.
I’ll likely not go to the fancy marine place in La Jolla either because I no longer eat critters.

French or freedom ? I bet these days SD uses freedom friesthe classic San Diego style "california burrito" is a carne asada burrito with french fries in it
SD was definitely a freedom fries kinda place (for california) when I was in socal, but I've heard it's gotten a bit less so recently.French or freedom ? I bet these days SD uses freedom fries
Depends on where you are. Downtown is gonna lean left, east county is gonna lean right, and the suburbs where I am are a pretty even split.SD was definitely a freedom fries kinda place (for california) when I was in socal, but I've heard it's gotten a bit less so recently.
definitely! also relative - "feels like right-leaning" in california is different than "feels like right-leaning" in say, wyomingDepends on where you are. Downtown is gonna lean left, east county is gonna lean right, and the suburbs where I am are a pretty even split.
I have a cousin that lives there and has for years and when they bought their Home it was requested by the seller that they maintain the American flagpole and fly the stripes…. Not kidding. You'd be surprised. There's an town in East County called Santee (which I've heard referred to as "Klantee" and "San-tucky"), where you'd swear you were in Idaho.definitely! also relative - "feels like right-leaning" in california is different than "feels like right-leaning" in say, wyoming
Good to know on this one, next time I am down. I went to the Stone brew pub at some old Navy Barracks or something, and that was cool, but I have mostly moved away from their styles at this point. Same with Lagunitas and Ballast Point.Howie's in Sacramento.
I'll second everything TomcatMF said (except maybe Julian--too far a drive for apple pie). Also, if you're a craft beer guy, there's a shit-ton of breweries to check out. The biggies are, of course, Stone and Ballast Point, but there's a million more. My fave is Societe.
Take My Breath Awaaayyyy!! (Sorry, had to. I will excuse myself now).Yeah, there are a ton of micro-breweries near where I live. There are so many now they call it Beeramar (instead of Miramar).
Sadly, no more F-14 Tomcats.Take My Breath Awaaayyyy!! (Sorry, had to. I will excuse myself now).
In fairness, I think high quality brew pubs are better.Sadly, no more F-14 Tomcats.
