Signature Guitars?

just think what our guitar collections would have been like if we were starting today. no need to "aspire" to MIA instruments and amps. a CV tele, an MIM Princeton, some pedals and off you go.

I have one American guitar that I hate and can't give away, nine Korean Guitars that I love, and a Chinese Gretsch that is pretty sweet in it's own right.

Yeah. The CV is a nice guitar. It's got that "finished" solid without being an anchor vibe. My MIM strat was nice enough. Playable. Solid. But it does seem like Fender has stepped up their game.

I had a Clubking for a while. It was a great guitar but I ended up trading it for an old Gretsch Corvette. I dig the Hinson sig.

I have a yen for a Deke signature. Though I don't know if I'll ever really get around to picking one up.

I think they are OK, but I generally don't agree with the price the manufactures are asking for them

dunno if I'd play a sigged guitar on stage.
like Mark said, it'd feel kinda like dress-up.
and unless it was signed by the Rocky Horror cast, that just wouldn't work.

the SRV one is a prime example of dress-up.
that Hinson one though, that's not so over-the-top, and I'd have no issues using that onstage.

so, I guess it depends on the guitar.

I'd also avoid anything associated closely with Randy Rhoads, like that ringed LP and such.
those are HIS, not mine...know what I mean?

and 10 guitars/basses here.
1x6str acoustic, 1x12str.
1x5str bass, 1x8str bass.
Bullet Strat (reclaimed from gal's kid who doesn't use it)
SG, LP, 2x BC Rich (all humbuckers in these), and an Ibanez (s/s/h)

the SG gets the most use.

looks like you've got half a dozen guitars to sell. :embarrassed:

There's no time for that. He's at dire risk of collapsing from too-many-Revs-itis. He should mail me that red one with the P90s NOW. I'll take it off his hands and keep him safe from those horrible guitars for no charge at all.

you're already selling guitars you don't need. why buy another you don't need?

To me, if you like the guitar, you like it. I don't care if it says anything or not. If it bugs you, you can put a sticker on or whatever.

The only signature item I can remember owning off hand is my old Wilson Jack Kramer autograph tennis racket. The signature didn't bug me.
