SG with P90s vs Humbuckers

Here's the guitar. It has nothing on the truss rod cover. Maybe it's a Studio?

I'd take that Epi for cost of shipping...though being up north, shipping would probably be more than the gutar is worth.

helluva a trade ya did there, though, congrats!

^that looks great!

Ive tried p90s and humbuckers in my SG and currently prefer the hums - using bareknuckle mules which are really good. I had BK P90s and whilst the neck one (Missisippi queen) sounded awesome the bridge Pig 90 just didnt sit right. I still want to try a bridge MQ in it if I can find one for cheap.

Sounds like the 60s Special Tribute
Yep that's what it turned out to be. Considering the bike I traded the guy was free and I ended up getting the Gibson and a guitar shaped object named Epiphone. I am happy with the trade I made. I always liked SGs because of Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Derek Trucks and Tim Sult. I like how it's not a pretty guitar like a Les Paul or a Strat. It's so ugly that it's cool

I looked at the P-90 ones and ended up spending a bunch on a PRS McCarty Soapbar that i can't really use in the studio because it's so noisy. A typical problem for P-90's unless you get some kind of non-vintage stacked version. If you need it to be quiet go with the HB's.

I want the God of Thunder to hear me

I had an Epi g400, an old MIK one, it was kinda meh. Much preferred an A G I L E P-90 version I picked up new on blowout for a Bejamin; sold the Epi on getting the A G I L E, though I eventually sold the A G I L E too. If the A G I L E had been a Gibby I'd probably still have it.
