Scala Guitars T-rod “Indian”

Yuck. It's just too much.

It's cool but it's still just a telecaster.
For a $5k custom guitar, I don't want a partscaster no matter how good it is.
You'd think for that cash they could at least design a fresh body shape.
Partscaster? I get the impression they didn't just order some parts from Warmoth.

I know.
My point being that a $5k custom guitar from a boutique builder should be more than a tele "copy." Yes, it's way fancier than your typical tele, but I'd wager a Warmoth neck would bolt right on.
Not my idea of a custom guitar, that's all.
If I want a tele, I can make a really badass Warmoth for $2k or less.

I'm sure you could. But a guitar with $2k in parts is going to retail for around $5k, won't it?

Not if I put it together.

That's $2,000 in retail parts. A builder's cost would be considerably less.

Upon revisiting this thread, I feel this might be one of the worst "boutique" jobs I've ever seen. I would rather play one of these…

Very nice, but not at that price.
Take a good Squier, & I'd bet you could make a very good approximation of this for a tenth of the price.

Looks like it got an acid bath, thus explaining the dead indian graphic.

On second thought, there is no explaining the dead indian graphic.

Ridiculous price is ridiculous. Nice looking guitar even though it's relic'd, which I normally don't care for.
I am not going to pay somebody to beat up my guitar.

It would not actually, only Scala designed necks will fit. Which does not prevent anyone to build one as a replacement but the neck joint is very specific, it's compression free and dual slotted (there, no quotation marks :) ). The joint is also dual purpose, on request the same neck may be bolt-on or set-in (glued).

what a piece of shit that is

look at the A string and high E how they are on top of the saddle screw

I do fancy the whole control plate knobbers assembly

im pretty sure that is a Squier CV/C bridgeplate too. Nice touch, a $7 bridge on a $7000 guitar. messedup0

oh, and I thought cigar store Indians were racist? that thing is fail on several levels
