Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Yup, same for me. Especially when using expressions that don’t translate directly. Or when speaking Dutch to my family I randomly use English words

Hehe yeah, especially when speaking with family it's weird as hell. Also cause we use quite some "finnish-isms". Here they don't use "going to" or "from", everything is in the word ending. Like shop is kauppa, I'm going to the shop is menen kauppaan, a lot of finnish people are lazy in English when talking to friends, so it's perfectly normal to just say you're going supermarket. So I got quite some dazzled faces when staying over with my family and announcing I was going supermarket and stuff like that :embarrassed:

Non-Rangers fans:
Durrrrrr yer clubs deid!!!

*spends the ensuing years banging on about said club at every opportunity*

I don’t really care about Scottish football. I was just winding you up

My hot tub is broke

It's about 2 months out of warranty but I did the maths and given how much I use it, I've basically put 4-5 years worth of "average" use onto it since last April

After scouring the internet for a method to get a proper plumbed in one delivery without needing to use a crane I've found one with all the bells and whistles - led lighting, Bluetooth speakers, wi-fi control (?) which can be delivered OK and is a lot cheaper than the other ones I've been looking at :grin::grin:

Had some interesting days.

My GF sold one of her artworks. First time she actually sold something, she was very confused about how much to ask, but in the end she got a really good amount of money for it. So far her income has been from exhibitions, performances, workshopsm grants and artist residencies, but hopefully this opens some new possibilities as well.

And we probably got a new place way closer to the centre than the suburban hellhole we live in now for after summer. Rent's going to be a lot more, so I'll need to start job hunting as I wont be able to afford it by just doing freelance stuff, but it's totally worth it.

Welcome to the job hunting club. Good luck and well done to the gf!

Congrats on all counts CoF.

I assume refreshing lager beers are on the cards

Having some REFRESHING Mallaskoski Frost Bite Hoppy Lager.

For some strange reason a crappy shop here started selling actual good beer for the same price as the cheapest supermarket crap. No idea how or why, but I'll take it.

I went into local crappy newsagent and besides the crappy British lager, all they had was Polish lager. Took a few cans home, where, upon opening the first can, I discovered i bought 9% alc. beer. BLIMEY! It was REFRESHING nonetheless

NICE. 9% is quite hardcore though :embarrassed:

This is one of those weird shops that sell all kinds of random crap. The kind of stuff you need every once in a while but don't feel like spending money on. Random stuff from routers to cleaning fluid and god knows what. And lately, they've had a lot of good beer for next to nothing.

Tried any salmiakki beer yet?

So, it’s a bit like Aldi then?
