Good to know. I guess I can choose just about anything as long as I take the body down to wood and then prime it? I'm thinking a powdery pink color would look cool for the missus.

thorough prep work is 90% of a good finish...sanding and priming may be tedious, but the payoff is worth the effort...
 
still mulling it over... but, i think i'll probably end up clearing it... i think it'd bring the color out even more...

Not only does the clear give your metallic paint some depth but you can also achieve a nice flat finish by shooting several passes of clear than sanding back and polishing.

krylon makes a color called champagne ballet slipper that is probably about what you're looking for... and, from my understanding, it's best to go to bare wood... however, i didn't.. just scuffed the old finish up with steel wool and paper...
 
i have to correct something guys... this was NOT my first refinish... i forgot about my Westbury, coincidently a freebee too...
