I’m at Dine Alone in Toronto.

Geddy Lee is signing his Lost Demos release.

Gavin McLeod is doing an acoustic set and has limited edition vinyl for sale.
He’s the guy I learned about just over a week ago.

Just got back a few hours ago.

Geddy is always a gentleman, but I think he hit on Mrs DCF right after this picture.

I forgot to ask him to inscribe it to me.

Mrs DCF did not forget.

Gavin put an a nice 40 to 45 minute set and then did a bit of a meet and greet and signed his new album.

The record store has a great little performance space.
They are associated with a record label of the same name, Dine Alone Records.

It occurred to me this morning that yesterday was not 4 20. I thought enough with the holidays not on the same date. Not saying I'm in favor of invading Canada, just thinking, can't we come to a consensus? I'd be fine with changing half to the USA date, half to the Canada date. Just pick one. My memory is not great so, I googled record store day. It was 4/12. Tried record store America, also 4/12 but, also got results fro 3rd Saturday of April. It's not always 4/20. That's kinda hard to have 3 Saturdays in 12 days? Oh, they moved it because of Easter. Never mind.

It was never about 4/20.
It’s typically the third Saturday in April and Black Friday in November. They did move it this year because of Easter.

As for date formats, you guys swing both ways (2 accepted formats) while we are into threesomes (3 accepted formats).

I haven't had a vinyl record since ~1989
I also always preferred D/M/Y format. Seems more logical that you need to know the day before the month or year

I had not played physical media in years, not vinyl, cd’s, mini discs, nor tapes. But, I’ve been working on cleaning up my basement. I found 100 vinyl albums in crates in the back of a closet. I hooked up my Numark turntable and I was surprised how great the records sound. My son thinks the albums are cool. So, we both went out on Record Store Day. My plan was to just buy the new Prince release but I came back with 6 records.

Now, I have to sort through the many hundreds of CD’s that are in my basement closet. I have a 400 disc CD player that’s full. But, there’s another 400 disc player sitting there empty, so I’m going to fill it up.

I’ll still be streaming music via phone in the car and earbuds. I had not missed listening to music through that nice stereo down in the basement, until I recently played those records. Now, I’ve got the bug for physical music media once again.
