Really big natural things where you live

For me, I guess the biggest thing is the freaking earth. The Great Plains are an amazing thing. It's vast. The scale of open space in the western half of the state can only be compared to an ocean.
This pic of the Black Kettle National Grasslands is nice.

Let's see your mountains and stuff. What you got that's big?

The city is pinned between the Pacific and the North Shore Mountains.

I could kick a soccer ball from my back lawn to the ocean.

Tuckerman's Ravine.

A bowl on the backside of Mt Washington in NH.
Because of the weather, the snowstorms hit the top of Mt Washington and just dump snow into Tuckerman's Ravine.
To the tune of 35-55 feet anually., or something ridiculous. The record is like 111 feet of snow....
There are websites advising for avalanche warnings, you'd better pay attention to them if you want to try it!
Every year, as the weather gets better (spring), hikers truck up to the top of Tuckerman's and ski down.
Most make it. Some die.

Because of the amount of snow that accumulates, it is not unheard of to go hiking/skiing on Independence Day (4th of July).
There are several routes down, but no lift service....you have to hike it to ski it.

Pretty fucking cool, actually. On warm spring days, it is party central at the base of the Ravine.

There is a local brewery named Tuckerman's, and let me assure you, it is good shit.......

Pretty awesome, actually. I've always wanted to try it.

It's one of those "You had better have your shit together if you're gonna attempt this..." kind of things, and...truth be told...I'm not sure I have my shit all that much together.

Texas is known for big hair.
The term "jack it to Jesus" is more common than you'd expect.
