R.I.P. John Prine

It's strange, I was listening to Prine when I saw this. Not on purpose, or a full album, just a random song (Clay Pigeons), on my bazillion song playlist. What are the odds?

My dad was a big fan as well. In fact, Blue Umbrella was the only song that he ever learned all the way through on guitar.

RIP John. I was watching the National Treasure thread hoping he'd pull through. I thought he was on the road to recovery, so this is especially sad news.

Spent the evening listening and playing some of my favorite songs John wrote over the years.

I think he had a good sense of humor regarding death. As sad as it is, I believe he was more than prepared for this eventuality.

I am very sad to hear this. One of the local PBS channels had an Austin City Limits show coming up next week starring John Prine that I have set to record with the DVR. It will be a bittersweet show.

If it's the 2018 show, I think most or all the clips are up on youtube already.

Why would you resurrect a thread like before I’ve had my 3rd cup of coffee?

I dunno...maybe I should have done it in rhyme like the resurrection of the Croods 'ludes thread.

On the fifth anniversary of this sad time, would you listen to John Prine while drinking some wine, or be like those swine who always decline?

I would be fine to drink some wine, and listen to Prine, while we dine. (You are paying for the food and drink, right?)
