PRS S2 line - has there been a thread yet?

I just noticed the S2 series, came out just last year I gather. GAS is acting up and I was looking at that SE Hollowbody I almost acquired a year ago. Then I saw these:

Priced a notch above the SE series, but assembled at the USA plant (pups and such may be imports though).

I’ve homed in on the S2 McCarty 594 Thinline.

Any thoughts? Other than hating on the birds I mean.

S2 line came out in 2013.

Currently, pricing is a LARGE notch above the SE line for the most part; however, they play and feel great overall.

As always, the first place I would look for a S2, or SE is Dave’s - they sell a lot of these as “used” on their site, but I suspect Dave has a standing deal with PRS where these are actually factory blems that he can sell as used.

I had an S2 CU24 for a bit. Very nice guitar. Pickups are indeed import, as are the tuners, and the bridge on the trem models. I very much want to get my hands on a 594 Thinline.

I don't understand the bird inlay hate. Almost all raptors, looks like an Accipiter sp. at the twelfth fret, possibly Sharp-shinned Hawk, obvious Swallow-tailed Kite, a Falco species of some sort. I might buy one just for the inlays.

I don't like the bird inlay. I don't like fret inlay much of any kind so in my case it is not restricted to PRS. My preference is a single inlay at the 12th fret, that is all. As much as I like Reverends, the block inlay they have on their set neck guitars has to this point stopped me from buying one.
