Still says Fender but as Mark said, not ideal. My strat is an MIJ but the parts were made in the USA
So you still haven't explained how you've been able to keep that HM trem intact for all this time.

My ideal LP is a MIA Standard gold top with P90s and a regular bridge. That model is not currently made by Gibson. they only have it with the funky tailpiece or in a lower end line.

my 2004 LP Standard. I wish is was some other color but I like how it plays and sounds the most which is my biggest criteria:
Does my Tokai count? Its one of the best "strats" I've ever played and it was owned my Fender Music Iinstruments in the 80's and its a complete and accurate replicat of a 1958 strat down to the decal

You're only saying that because you haven't played it.
It would be the Third guitar of his that I would steal.... after his Suhr and the 440.
Mark, you could easily have one of the good luthiers in town either shoot a layer of gold over that finish, or sand the top down and stain and clear the top. There's obviously some flame in there and it has a natural back, cutting the labor down considerably.
