I have Native Instrument's Komplete, PSP Nitro, and Izotope Vinyl. If I end up getting a Mac Pro I will be investing in a UAD-2 Card PRONTO.
I've always been kinda dodgy on the Waves stuff. I've heard that PACE can have some serious issues and they have so many package options, but I've never used them. I've used the UAD stuff several times and wish they had a Firewire version, like TC or SSL.

I got all of those and they are just about all I use right now. Way, way better than the stock plugins that came with Cubase Essentials.

I'm still sure I'm going to get a UAD-2 card, but as Pedro the Lion says, "it's good to have options."

C4, Q10, and the L1,2,3 are the truly ESSENTIAL ones, since no one makes anything close to them.
Being a Pro Tools guy, I've never had occasion to use the UAD stuff. keeping all that processing away from the CPU is definitely a plus though!

UAD doesn't have TDM support?

You can run UAD stuff in PT, but it's kind of convoluted.
Also, with an HD3, there's no room for the card.
I've never seen a PT system with UAD stuff in it.
The best deal for Waves is the Gold Bundle. It has the C4, Q10, L1 and most of the other good stuff. It's kind of the industry standard.

I'll have to put that on my wish list, then. I don't want to spend a million dollars on stuff but that seems to be the best deal now that I'm looking on the Waves site.
