Please talk me out of buying a Fulltone OCD pedal...

I don't need one, I should spend money on Christmas presents instead, etc. Please talk me out of it, because I'm this close to buying one immediately. Explain what horrible things will come from purchasing this, make shit up if you have to. :facepalm:
 
well, its a mosfet based overdrive. you might want to check out the Fulldrive Mosfet, the Z-Vex Box of Rock, and the Fulltone GT-500 first. they're all mosfet based too.

personally, i don't think you need mosfets to get a great sounding pedal. but they do sound good. the problem i'd have with the OCD is that i'd have no idea which version i'm getting. he's up to version 4 now and i'm not sure how different it sounds from the previous ones.
 
You might think it isnt a big deal, but you buy that and it is going to start a chain of events that is going to ruin yuor life. The one you get will have a bad wiring job, and when you go to take it back to the store, you're going to get hit by a school bus on the way, which is going to injure you slightly but is going to cause you to forget that your pedal has a bad wiring job, and whewn you next go to plug it in it is going to spark, igniting a fire that spreads throughout your house and leaves you bald and without functioning taste buds.

A fate worse than death.

Apparently the newest version is "darker" than the older ones, but instead of talking me out of buying one you suggest buying even more expensive pedals. :facepalm:

obviously there are many, many choices out there and you need to familiarize yourself with all of them before making a decision. :embarrassed:

Hell, she doesn't care, she just laughed when I told her I'm going to pick up a Bassman head tomorrow. If we're married and I'm spending the joint account money, that's when she has reason for concern.
