Pink Flamingos - The Saga Continues Now with trailer!!

Gary Blanchard

beloved, local musician
I just heard from Domestica Records; a documentary film maker wants to use the song Pink Flamingos in a film about the influence of the pink flamingo on popular culture. Apparently it will include an interview with fellow Baltimore native John Waters.

Funny how that album keeps coming back...

I understand we have come to financial agreement and "the check is in the mail." The guy from Domestica also requested two DVDs, one for each of us. The movie is titled The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo. I have seen a private trailer for the film that I am not allowed to share, but here is a link to the IMDb page for it:

Here is a link to the song:

Christopher Cross uses the pink flamingo as his symbol on his albums. I don't know if he's a swinger, but I wouldn't put it past him.
:thu: Not sure if he's a swinger either but he knows a thing or two about being a gigalo

Well the latest word is that they want to also use the song for the movie trailer. My guy in Spain (where the movie maker is based as well) is trying to get more money for it. I told him to go for it if he can but I don't want to lose this either. I pointed out that this could boost record sales. :thu:

Its not a movie about swingers is it?

No. It is a look at the pink flamingo in pop culture, but, as I understand it, it is presented like a mystery story.
I was messing with you. I had no idea About the swingers connection. That sounds like a good documentary. That will be very cool if they use your song.

It seems like a done deal for the movie and highly likely for the movie trailer. Oddly enough it will pair me with John Waters, another Baltimorean with pink flamingo connections.

In the late 80s my house was filled with flamingo-related items. People knew I liked flamingos, so I got a lot of things that way.
