One week from today......

What time did you guys quit playing on Thursday last year? Sounds like I will be able get a few songs in.

We alternated between playing and chilling out on the back porch until at least 1:embarrassed:0 AM or so.

This year should be interesting. My flight leaves Denver at about 1:embarrassed:0 AM or so. I'll try to get a good nap in on Wednesday but I'll end up awake most of the night. I have a 3 hour layover in Charlotte then on to Charleston. And I must (MUST) get at least one good run in while I am there - two would be better. Even if I am just running up and down the road in front of the Prages house - meaning I need to get up early probably on Friday to avoid the heat...

I'm leaving Friday morning-ish sometime. No later than noon.

On a sad note, the pepper crop is pretty scant this year. I'm bringing what I have though.

And fresh bacon.

For me it will be to bike in the morning. I have a Salonpas pad on today which has really helped, but I want this bastard healed before I get back to training. I want to do the Vegas Half in December. Jamming to 1pm should be good for me as I will be on West Coast time (10pm). The 5 hours of flying time in a cigar tube is what wears you out, 1 hour layover and 1.5 hours to Charleston.

As far as I know, there will be no prize winning eggs this year. Lino's nephew got some new chickens, and they won't lay eggs. I'm pretty sure they got rid of the chickens already, but I don't know if they got a better batch to replace the old ones.

I guess we could probably have fresh grilled chicken if nothing else.

I don't think the Dirty Dog course is going to be runnable. The storms really wreaked havoc at Kanawha State Forest.

However, we did run the 4 mile loop near the house the other day and while there a couple of downed trees, it's still runnable for the most part. Maybe this weekend we'll scope out KSF a little better and see if Dirty Dog is runnable.

Anything runnable will be good. I'm not picky.

At this time next week, I will be en route from Bristol to the Smooth Ambler distillery. Then I'm heading to Casa de Prages later that afternoon. Probably with a dangerous collection of whiskey and guitars.

You're gonna kick my ass. I haven't been training at all, and you will have a fresh infusion of oxygen that you're not used to running in.

But the equalizer will be the humidity. I ran yesterday afternoon at 5 PM and it was about 87 degrees and humid (for here - maybe 55% max) and I definitely felt it. I don't worry about running fast anyways - I just need the miles and time on feet.

I'll be arriving around 5:45 pm on Friday.
Will anyone be sober enough to pick my ass up from the airport, or will you make Mrs. P do it again?
Or I could rent a car.

I would really like to run as well, but I run a 11 minute mile so I'm not sure if I can hang with you guys.

I think Lino has volunteered to pick you up. Regardless, Randy doesn't drink, so we could make him the DD if Mrs. P isn't around.
