We have to be careful in assuming "the boomers" are all like thinking, like acting people. In many ways, using the term, "the boomers" , is much like saying "the blacks", "The gays", or "the Jews."
Well, this is true. I myself could be considered either a late boomer or an early X'er. Sorry for the over-generalization.

yea....i was a little offended by that remark too.
Sorry. I really meant the establishment boomers. I did not mean the entire generation. At the caucus last week there were quite a few boomer generation people sitting on Bernie's side in addition to the younger folks as well. I had too much jellybean sugar last night and must've been speaking in haste. Being involved in our caucus got me a bit fired up. An interesting side effect of that process.

What about the black, gay, Jew boomers? Can we talk about them?

i think that once those in the gov't become part of the "establishment", it doesn't matter whether they're boomers, or x-ers, or nexters or milineals.....they have become the problem. they have been 'assimilated' so to speak. they've taken on "the platform" and cannot or will not work outside that box.
that's the biggest problem we have right now. the two side of the isle refuse to take their eyes out of that tunnel.
what generation they're from isn't even relevant. what we need is to eliminate parties completely. that's where these rigid boxes come from. IMO.

LOL. Nothing will come of it. If the republicans are hoping this will be the smoking gun that brings her down they are huffing paint fumes.

Wouldn't surprise me if Trump exhumes the ghost of Kenneth Star in an attempt to make something from nothing.

Bernie shut down the email debate in the primaries for 1 of 2 reasons. He wanted to make the debates about issues and have a "clean" win or the tinfoil hats are correct and he was picked by the Democrats so Hillary would win and he'll be her VP. While I respect the decision if it was for the first reason, either way I think it was a mistake. Hillary would never let something like that go and whatever Republican she runs against sure as shit won't let it go, which fits well with all too popular "don't vote for the other guy" game plan that seems so popular in politics these days.

There is speculation that they are looking into the possibility of The Clinton foundation being used to move money around illegally. If that's the case, we're screwed, because here comes the Donald.

I still think Bernie can beat her fair and square. Of course that pits a capitalist against a "socialist" which isn't going to go over well with the great unwashed.

Fuck it, we're screwed no matter who wins the nomination on either side.

while i would very much like to see hillary held to the law, i also doubt whether anything will actually stick to her.
if the FBI actually had uncovered serious violations of the national security act, she'd be in handcuffs by now.
her statement that "she never had anything on her server that was MARKED classified", doesn't mean that it wasn't classified or would be very soon.
there will be some people 'blamed' for sloppy work, but i doubt anyone will go to jail, and certainly not hillary.
the clinton machine have their hands around a lot of very powerful throats, and she's not going down for anything.
and besides, the legions of clinton apparatchiks would never believe their 'savior' would do anything wrong.

Whoa! Hold up.

I have to weigh in on the Carter thing.

1. The "Failed rescue attempt" wasn't his failure, just a failure. Shit went south. It was a massively and ballsy move, that few would have risked.

2. His failure to secure a release of the hostages in Iran, had more to do with the ASSHOLES holding said hostages than it did with his ability to cope. He was smart enough to know that any military plan would mire us in a protracted engagement with unfathomable long-term results. I.e. Al Queda, ISIS etc... We all know now what happens when we go down that road.

3. Reagan had fuck all to do with the hostage release, other than the fact that the Ayatollah was as certain of Reagan's unpredictable cowboy recklessness as he was that Carter wasn't going to nuke them. Basically, fear of the unknown, the wild card in a cowboy hat being inaugurated was what got them released.

Carter got dragged through the mud for years over his "Weakening of the US military". The opposition loved to focus on his canceling the original B-1 Bomber program as a perfect example.

The B-1A was a turd, a useless, redundant, expensive turd. Yes, he killed it, but in favor of signing off on what became the F-117 Stealth Fighter, The B-2 Stealth Bomber, The M-1 Abrams Tank, The Humvee, and eventually, the B-1B Bomber which was a complete operational 180 from the B-1A and actually served a purpose for which it still performs and is scheduled to keep doing so into the 2050s.

So, Suck it. Haters.
