What's wrong with the Osteens? ???

That squinty-eyed little bastard always puts me in a good mood on Sunday mornings before Meet The Press :embarrassed:

I caught part of his show one morning. I gotta say, that cat is great at what he does. Much better than the ones who were on before pro wrestling in the 80s.

It's incredible to me that there are people who believe every word of a > 2000 year old story is the literal truth. If I had a lower standard of ethics, getting rich would be a snap in this country...

But really only the parts that suit them at a given time.

I mean if you're a Christian, then the Old Testament does not (or at least should not) apply to your life. It's good to know your history, but you needn't apply the vengeful sans-Jesus days to your thoughts and actions.

I recall Bush 2 said something pretty similar.

To clarify, I think W said he only read newspapers and magazines.

Quote:

He said in a series of interviews that he does not need to read extensively because he reaches the right decisions “with very little knowledge other than the knowledge I [already] had, plus the words ‘common sense,’ because I have a lot of common sense and I have a lot of business ability.”

"I put lipstick on a pig," he said. "I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is." He went on, "I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization."

If he were writing "The Art of the Deal" today, Schwartz said, it would be a very different book with a very different title. Asked what he would call it, he answered, "The Sociopath."

Did you get the Trump steaks I sent you?

Tremendous steaks. The best.

That said, a minority of a minority voted Trump. Don't sell us all out because you're feeling cheeky.

which is why his companies have gone bankrupt FOUR times.

and as far as the "launch codes". that's not really how that works. the president doesn't call in the launch codes. and besides that, there is a chain of at least 4 people that the order to launch has to go through before an actual launch can occur. any one of them along the way can refuse, causing a long delay in nuking someone. i don't think you would get career generals to just launch at a country because the donald is having a trantrum.

trump trying to nuke another country without real cause would likely result in a military coup d'etat.

Wouldn't disobeying the president get you a Court Marshall or even treason? I don't know, I've never been in the military, I'm asking?

I could easily see Trump deciding to take unilateral military action without consent of Congress and without even issuing executive orders. The issue with Trump is he's used to being in charge and delegating, but he at least has an understanding of his own unique corporate culture... he DOESN'T have the same understanding of fundamental day-in and day-out of governing, much less trying to deal with a dysfunctional Congress and all of their procedures. Remember Greg Stilson in the Dead Zone?

Are you telling me someone is going to try and kill Trump only for him to use a baby as a shield, thus ruining his chance at winning?

yea, you would get a courts marshall, unless the vast majority of military leadership was driving it. then it's just a take over. my point is that something like that should never need to happen in this country.
but i don't see the joint chiefs of staff ordering attacks on other countries just because the president is pissed at someone. the president CAN be relieved of command. it IS possible.

Someone should relieve you of your command for not knowing how capital letters work. :embarrassed:
