I have an older 50 watt Katana and honestly I can get most of the sounds I’d ever want to use from the stock clean and crunch channels (with whatever pedals I’m into at the moment). The onboard green channel drive/boost is pretty darn good and the onboard trem and green channel verb get the job done. I’m not 100 percent but the clean channel sounds like it’s based on the Roland JC series which is a tremendous platform-type amp. And the crunch channel does a good job at edge of breakup stuff if you crank the volume with the gain most/all of the way down and the juice it with the boost or a pedal. Can get you in the ballpark of a vintage tube combo thing.

And if that works out, maybe I would end up in a jam or whatever with some of those folks who don’t see things quite like I do, as we have discussed elsewhere, Plenty of them around here in Boise.
