Mojo Request Oh wish me luck fellas because tomorrow I have an audition, well it is the next step in the audition

They sent me the current set list for the May 22 show and it is 13 tunes. I played through the entire set once and did a passable job. Next I'll go through it with a notepad and jot down areas I need to focus on.

Radiohead is one of those bands where I really do know pretty much every song well enough to at least fake my way through, and for most of them I know them a lot better than that. But for a tribute I'm betting they want it note perfect so that's what I'm going to focus on.

But on the other hand it's just bass so no one will really care if you just play roots all night :poke:.

Tell them you would like to play some originals, still inspired by Radiohead, then drop the Tuna King on them.

It sounds like you are on the right track with the exact reproduction approach. I think the advice of looking at live performances on the tube is good to capture moves, look, etc.

I’m sure you mentioned this already, but make sure they know you can also cover guitar, keys, vox, and electric tuna.

Is the band going for the exact Radiohead experience, or is it more a celebration 'in the spirit' of Radiohead? Is there a Radiohead 'look'?

Probably good to have the song structures, chord changes, and significant bass hooks down for the audition. Anything else on top of that is gravy right now. Small details can be filled in if you get the gig.

Today’s the day! Here I go…
