2002. I looked at the part online and it looks to go around the input shaft. I hope I'm wrong. I have zero experience with manual trannies so there's a good chance I am.

I guess they switched to concentric slave cylinders some time ago. I am somewhat of a luddite when it comes to vehicles. I like them old and easy to work on. CSC mojo.

I'm going to have to replace the starter on mine now. It's been dragging forever. Should be an easy job, but no. All kinds of crap has to be moved out of the way and the tranny unbolted at the rear mounts and jacked up.
Well, after months of putting it off, I finally bought a starter and replaced the original. It's been dragging forever, drawing so much current it was killing the battery.
I did some surfing and reading up on others with S10s and what I was in for. I really couldn't come to any conclusions, as there are so many different configurations, 4cy/auto, 4cyl/manual, 4.3/auto, manual, etc. Then different years had different challenges. Some videos, owners were removing the exhaust manifold, even removing cross members, brackets, and jacking up the engine/tranny.
So I finally just bought the starter, raised the truck and slid under there on a creeper to take a look.
I had the old one out and the new one in in 30 mins, nothing had to be moved, or removed. And the engine fires right up, the starter is sooo much better. Should've done this months ago.

That NEVER happens for me. With my luck, one of the starter bolts would be 14" long, and the only way to remove it would be to remove the engine.

Finally had to do them again today.
The megs coating lasted just beyond the two years and started hazing early last month (nov 2015 through December 2017)
I wet sanded them and sprayed them with the remaining coating left in the spray can. They look just like the pic above again
