Official Pragestock 2010 Thread

Well drummergirl works 3 on Friday, so I'll probably leave here when she does at around 2:30ish, pick up some supplies and be on my way. GoogleMaps is saying ~3hrs, so I'll go ahead and mark a Friday @ 5:57:24 ETA on my arrival (accuracy +/- 1.28%).

So you, Aahzz and Baimun all arrive Friday evening - and maybe Chihili. Do we have any definite word from him yet? Tele is Saturday morning....

Also, before I went on the great dog hunt this morning, I hooked a mic up to the PA, and fired up my Classic 50 1/2 stack (probably for the first time since last Pragestock).

That sucker rocks. I'm not a huge fan of it for recording (prefer the Classic 30 for that) but for cranking up and moving some air, that thing sounds amazing.

Does anybody that's coming have a spare Alesis power supply they can bring? I should have 3 of them, but can't find any. My reverb unit (for the PA) is an Alesis, and unless I can find a power supply for it, it looks like the vocals will be running dry. Won't really matter much when we're pushing 200 db, but I'd like to have the 'verb hooked up anyway. :embarrassed:

So Cooper pulled 'The Great Escape' this morning? You cranking the Classic 50 probably reminded him of the cacophony he had to live through last year and he wanted out.....

Well, if you consider jumping the fence and going to our neighbor's house to mooch some food from her a "Great Escape" then yeah.

The troubling part was when she told me "Oh, he comes to visit me a few times a week."

I've got a couple in the PA rack. I assume they are the same ?

Yeah, it's the 9VAC. I think it's listed at 840 mA or something. Impossible to find in any stores around here, and even though I have three Alesis products that use the same power supply, I can't seem to find even one of the fucking things at home.

Lino, it should be the same as the one you have running the MidiVerb in the rack.

I shall bring it. There are 2 alesis units, I'll bring them both if they are different from each other Boyeeeee :)

Nobody needs to bring a power supply!

Turns out the power supply for my Pod 2.0 is 9VAC with sufficient mA to more than cover the reverb unit!

 Thanks for trying though

First time that I've run out of my mix in about 20 years. I call the stuff a Carribean spice, it's very similar to one that used to be sold commercially mebbe 25-35 years ago. They quit making the stuff, and when I found that out, I more or less cloned it. The difference is that I use about a quarter of the salt, and replace that with herbs & spice. The idea is that it's a strong blend.... you don't need a lot of the mix to get a great flavor. The downside of it all is that it's damned expensive to make if you have to buy all the ingredients from scratch.... but it goes a long way. I usually make a little over a pound per batch, and half of that will last me 6 months or more depending on how heavy handed I am with it.

I'm still trying to decide what gear to bring. Any requests? I'm thinking a strat (not last years), LP, Firebird. Amp wise I'm thinking H&K, Holland, GA-20 and will probably play through the Holland or the H&K most of the day. I just got done rearranging my pedalboard and cleaning it up a little (it's still a mess though).

Definitely the Firebird and Strat.....

I'd be more than happy to FTP you guys some Tom Waits to play since I won't be there in person. :helper:

I definitely want to try the Firebird and the H&K.

The only gear I've gotten since last year are a few home made pedals and the Blackstar HT5, which won't be anywhere near loud enough to use during the jams.

I do have Lino's new Korean made Hamer California, which I need to setup for him.

Oh, and Mrs. P's USA Peavey Millennium.
