This isn't something you have to do (and I'm not really the type either), but you could contact PRS and point out the quality control issues. Similarly, this doesn't say much for the 55-point inspection by Sweetwater...

Both companies might do something for your troubles...or they might not.

Despite the issues, does the replacement sound as good as the original?

It sounds pretty consistent once I put my preferred strings on it. It does seem a little less resonant.
