New Superbowl Thread. Talking about the game/event!

Wow, that is the craziest superbowl ending I have ever seen. Great football, well, except for the brawl on the second to last play.
Started by Gronk I might add. Check it out here if you don't believe me. Clear blow to the head thrown. Not sure how it was that Irvin instigated THAT blow.

But just defending my guys. Great game. Each team played hard. My team could have won, but literally threw it away when they had a great running back ready to go and three tries available. Good interception by the Pats and congrats to them.

Sadly now the media will only remember the fight. What I wish they would show is before all of that happened on the link - that is when it began

And the fight will be blamed on the bad Seahawks, because the ref threw the flag on the retaliatory punch. But whatever. The dustup about the deflated balls will be what it is. It will be interesting to see. It did not affect this game, except Brady did not seem as crisp with the ball for a while. The game itself was one for the ages though.

I only saw it live, and I wasn't really paying much attention to who did what when. Certainly could have been the guy from the patriots. I couldn't tell who started it even in your clips watching it a second time. Looked like a lot of shoving on both sides, and then all hell broke loose. Maybe I don't know what I should be looking at in the mele. either way, fights like that just scream poor sportsmanship...especially how it continued for a while. Even sadder when it happened when the game was basically over.

It is pretty clear it was Gronkoski, number 87, right after the clip starts. Look again, you will see. Either way, the whole thing turned ugly on both sides.

Yeah, now that I know the guy from the patriots number and when to look in the clip it was a pretty clear punch in the head.

Pats won which is what I expected...

I'm always happy to see ass hats lose which is what happened...

Makes no difference....They're still making money to spend at the candy store........

What would have happened if they called the foul on the patriots player? Would it have moved the ball into the endzone? Is that a touchback?

I saw that part as he pushed number 35 in the head and then went after 62. Then 51 turned and sent a right to Gronk. What I am talking about is before that. When the Pats were in the victory formation and hiked the ball, something happened that led to all of that.

Mostly likely the penalties would have offset. But it was the punch thrown by 51 which was the reason for the ejection.

That was all I could saw too, live and then later. I saw it live, and saw the pretty big swat to the back of the head (you see Gronk deliver the big swat that forces the head forward, then even square up with his fists a little toward Irvin) that 51 (Irvin) seemed to directly retaliate against. Irvin was then ejected for being the "instigator". That is the part that bugs me. But it was definitely ugly either way.

So to get off the 30 second brawl and back on the game, it was pretty dang interesting. Gronk was not as big an offensive factor, other than the first TD. They held him to pretty low numbers on the field. That little Pats receiver Edleman is tough, and slippery. He is like the new Welker. They would have had trouble without him. Lynch got some good yards, but was not a hugely dominant factor. Unknowns played a big role. Losing CB Lane, already a back up, and having to go to Simon, was hard. But Simon did ok. I think the thing that let the Pats back in (before the goal line interception) was losing DE Avril to the concussion. Brady was much more comfortable in the pocket and less hurried after that. Bummer. And bummer on the bad play call on the goal line. (Carroll has already taken responsibility. Love the guy. But a bonehead call). But that is how the ball bounces.
