Dig it! New Reverend models

I'm probably just old. Wow, am I really that old? I have MIK stuff from 10-15 years ago at cost around $400 that is great. Fenders, PRS, Epis, an Agile.

Did the prices really go up that much?

On to China ....

You skipped Indonesia :poke:

The Concept of the Corgan seems cool, but I do not like the aluminum plates all over the top of the guitar. William's a bit of a douche too, but after the plates the biggest hurdle (one too big for me to overcome) is the price. At $240 less the Reeves Gabrels II is a much more appealing guitar for my taste. The Charger 290 LE is also listing for $1199 and Reeves had that sounding awesome in this demo:

I want this in a six string.

Yeah, that would be quite cool in a 6-string. The 12-string is cool too, but the last time I had an electric 12-string, I ended up getting in a rut playing nothing but Byrds stuff.

While not the same body shape, you are describing the Club King 290/Stu D. Baker/Unknown Hinson models.

To be fair the Hinson and Club King are also two different bodies. The Hinson is much smaller and thiner than the CK. The Hinson also has a short scale neck.

The 12 string model come about after a request from Chris Funk of the Decemberists. It's been a long 18 months waiting for it to make it's public appearance.

I have a lot of really nice guitars that I have collected over the years. My Reverend Charger was cheaper than all of them except for one. It is also going to be my number one guitar for my original band's live debut tomorrow. I'll take a telecaster as a back up but I plan to play the Reverend all night. Don't let the Korean thing fool you, these are really nice instruments.

I get the same knee jerk reaction as a lot of people when it comes to rising prices on import guitars. But then I think about some of the ones I've played recently. For example, my Korean-made James Tyler Variax is a beautifully-made instrument that beats most MIA guitars I've owned at twice the price, all modeling effects aside.

As if I didn't already want the 12 string bad enough.....

Just remember that owning a nice electric 12 means sinking money into something you play once every 3 months (for most people), sinking money into a nice compressor pedal, and wondering what you were thinking when it comes time to restring/intonate/set it up.

I also kind of want one again.

Been there, done that. Don't need the comp.

I'm pretty sure Greg could play a dried up piece of shit with a rubber band across it and it would make me want one. I'm not in love with the look of the 12-string (I'd rather see the ClubKing 12-string), but it's the most appealing thinline/semi-hollow 12-string I've seen to date.

Yep. My Korean made Reverend is as well made as any non-custom guitar I have ever owned.
