Need new soldering iron.

Need a new soldering iron. If Radio Shack were still around I would replace it with the same thing. Anyone using one they recommend?

Do you want a soldering station or just a cheap plug-in iron. If the former, I'm sure there are many online choices. I am not knowledgeable enough to make a recommendation. If you just want a cheap non-adjustable unit, I think they're under $10 at Harbor Freight.

It’s a 40 watt plug in that’s made it 20 years. Hoping to get something similar.

Edit : Think I’m going to get a adjustable station this time.

Ive soldered once. I borrowed my dad's.
I did fix the Shure mic that I unscrewed and tore the wires.
Home Depot?

I use one often, I have several. Get a Weller if you’re going to be using it often, if only on occasion, Harbor Freight or the many less expensive choices on Amazon or eBay etc.

The suggestion coming from way out in left field:

Get that and a high-wattage USB-C charging brick (like from UGREEN or Anker).

I got one of these a couple years ago and it's made working on guitars (and other electronics) so much easier. It's lightweight but it heats up SUPER FAST. I've never had any issues soldering to the back of a pot.
