I agree with you even being a TB12 fan. When the Giants played against the Pats, both Super Bowls were won by the defensive line.

As they say in basketball, offense wins games but defense wins championships!

Saw that game in Vegas on the really large screens. I believe that it was the last year or second to the last year that was allowed. Had my money on the Bucs and even wore my Brady jersey at that SB party.

Actually, from what I can derive on the net, seems that either Bud Grant (head coach of the MN Vikings) or Bear Bryant (Alabama) during the mid-60s was quoted as saying "Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships"

Really? I thought the commercials overall were a step above what they've had the last few years.

The halftime show was not great. But I give props to The Weekend for actually singing for at least part of it. It looked to me like his vocals were live for the first part when he was on stage, but once he went into the house of mirrors it was all lip syncing. Overall I give it a 6.5 for effort.
 
IMO the vocals were terrible. He seemed to be using autotune to the max. Not my thing. To each their own.

And without one of the greatest clutch catches of all time (David Tyree helmet catch), Brady has another ring. NYG had NO BUSINESS winning that game but...on any given Sunday.That play and that game had the perfect storm of bad fortune going NE's way and the perfect storm of good luck going NYG's way.

I believe Tyree never caught another pass in the NFL. Pretty wild stuff.

And let's not forget Belechik's pigheadedness against Philadelphia - inexplicably not playing Malcolm Butler at all. All the while watchingthe Iggles do whatever they wanted on offense.

The Giants were dominant at the line of scrimmage in both of those games. Take your Ls with some class.
 
The first one was lost on a circus catch. Cannot be denied.

The second was legit.

Andrew Sak, I was just gonna come on and say the same thing. Pete Carroll loses his mind and calls a pass play. Wtf. But then again, it was another circus catch that got them down the field.

The Butler thing had me irate. I was yelling "PUT THAT GUY IN!!"

And that's where B.B. fails as a coach: massive ego.

I get 'punishing' a guy for not following protocol but remember "do your job"? Bill's job was to use the tools that he had to win. He didn't do his job.

Not only that, but if you were going to try a pass, having RW loft one over a corner where only the receiver could get it, as he has often done, rather than right into the thick of things. If you wanted to try one misdirection play. But yeah, run Marshawn!

Also, earlier in that game, TB looked on the ropes a little, but got his mojo back (and impressed me in how he did so) after our best rusher (Cliff Avril) that game got badly injured and left the game. They were getting to him before, but when TB had that little bit of breathing room, he was right back in.
