National Football League 2019

Can I get a ruling on this, @Guitar Heel ?

Well, the Jaguars started as we have many times. Injuries and a total lack of focus. I hate being a fan but I grew up in Jacksonville and have been a fan since day one. One of these years it'll all be worth it. Hopefully I'm alive to see it (I'm looking at you Cubs fans)

Maximum Redskins.

A local reporter up here reported that Guice had a dinged up knee yesterday on the pregame show. It makes me scratch my head when you have a hall of fame running back on your team and you don't dress him because you have a guy coming of a torn ACL who has never carried the ball in a regular season NFL game, who may have a dinged up knee. I get that neither of them play special teams, but that seems like a lame reason. It probably wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game, but you never know.

That was a tough break. My brother has lived in Jax Beach for 20+ years now and has had season tickets for most of that time. I didn't get to see the game, but he said Minshew looked pretty good.

The Redskins do not appear to be terrible.

Non appearances can be deceiving.

Best part of last night: as the text-thread with my good friend the Steeler fan went on, he finally started shit-talking me about the 2007 Super Bowl.

Yup.

Re: Aaron Hernandez, what I was attempting to say (and doing a landmark poor job of it) was that even though he was apparently living a fairly interesting life outside of work, while on the actual team he was enormously productive.

And I have no doubt that there are a great many NFL players who lead interesting lives off the field; we simply haven't heard about it (yet).

In the real football (i.e. not handegg) a draw is worth one point and a win worth three. Would that make it feel better?
Playing until a team wins would feel better for me. I get it that they dont want to get hurt playing extra minutes. I was just whining.

It used to be the Raiders is where the morons went for their last chance. Now it is the Pats. Good luck with your new distraction.

The Pats have taken troubled players and humbled them to the point that they follow the Patriot way. If players (whether stars or not) act out of line, they are released. So even with taking on a player such as Josh Gordon for a couple years ago, he was on suspension and you really never heard about any antics since. Hernandez was immediately released when the situation in Florida came up. Corey Dillon was a troubled player and came to the Pats. Became a very productive player with no repercussions while he was with the team. Jonas Gray undrafted free agent in 2014 played an awesome game against the Colts where he ran 199 yards and scored 4 TD's. Opened his mouth after the game then was benched. Even Ocho-Cinco was given an opportunity. Failed miserably to make an impact for the team. The list goes on as I am a Pats fan but I am sure other teams have their troubles. Ray Lewis is a big one that comes to mind along with a few other Raven players just for starters.

As for AB, if he STFU, he will thrive. If not, bye, bye.
