Mead(e)

MonkeyZero

Mexican Mayonnaise Weiner Sandwich
I've made it, I drink it, I'm confused by it.
Did Vikings/medieval times people really drink this stuff in mass quantities?
I can do a couple glasses but then I gotta switch up.
The stuff I make is great! But it takes literally a year to make. I don't have the patience for that. So commercially I go for the good stuff. Aka $25 a bottle or more. Tonight's selection is fantastic. First pic. Tomorrow I'll dig into the other. Second pic. I like it super sweet.
Any mead suggestions?

Tugwell’s Meadery on Vancouver Island makes a very nice mead.
Pretty much a white wine with an interesting flavour. Not weird or odd tasting.

I've had some good ones and bad ones. Just like any white wine, it can vary quite a bit.
I think the stuff they used to drink back in ancient times was probably pretty different. Fermentation techniques are pretty advanced compared to medieval times. Also, there are so many variations, who knows exactly how people drank it back then... spiced with all kinds of stuff, cut with fruit juices, blended with malt/beer, etc. I used to read about that stuff all the time, but it's been years.
