BE NICE. TRY TO BE NICE.....

@dougk has been hosting MAP Guitars in his shop recently and posting some work on Instagram. Checked out his site and noticed that he does another sort of SG mash up...this one is reminicent of an SG and RD combo. I like it more than the SG meets Mustang hybrid I posted a while back.

Wood looks really good. That's the nice thing I can say. :)

Body shape is a killer for me though (not to mention the ridiculously oversized truss rod cover).
Not a fan of both offsets and SGs, combine the two and that's a hell no for me. :embarrassed:

I appreciate that he is building something unique and not just another boo-teek Strat or Tele clone

Nope.

It might be interesting to see it in a solid colour.
Something bright.
I get a 80s hair metal vibe from it and that, to me, means bright white or neon colours.

I like the wood. The body shape wouldn't be a deal breaker.

But yeah, half the fretboard into the body is just silly. About the only thing it would be good for is either someone that never plays above the 12th fret, or for a smaller/young player, as having the strap button closer to the headstock brings the nut area closer for an easier reach for the open chords.

And Dexter is right about that truss rod cover. It looks like you would have to take off the strings just to adjust the truss rod o_O

I don't get 80's guitar from this but I do see why you might think that. It almost has that B.C. Rich thing going on.
The SG portion of the shape says 70's to me. Idk.
