Love for Vox Guitars?

I like this 1960s vintage Phantom:

An interesting variation on their old teardrop guitar, which was also groovy.

Back in about 1968, my brother in law was drummer in a 4 piece band (covered Mitch Ryder, Paul Revere Raiders, etc.). The lead guitar guy played a tear drop 12 sting Vox electric. Don't know the model - but it was pretty cool.

For the record, I don't own one of these. I played one of the higher number models once and wasn't impressed. But I was also judging it on its non-blowout price. I may have thought differently otherwise.

I've never ran into one in person. I remember when MF was blowing them out. What kept me from pulling the trigger was made in Indonesia. Jello, and somebody else, HIAR?, bought G&L Ascaris, and say they are great. Also MII. So it's safe to buy MII guitars now? I know made in China is a lot better than they were.

I played a 2013 Indonesian made Epi ES175 a while back that was pretty nice. I was quite surprised.
